Has anyone else had the experience of discovering that their email address was used to create a Coinbase account without their knowledge or consent? I recently received an email from Coinbase welcoming me to their platform, but I have never signed up for an account. I'm concerned about the security of my personal information and the potential implications of this unauthorized account creation. Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do to protect myself?

Yes, I've had a similar experience with my email being used to create a Coinbase account. It was quite alarming to receive an email welcoming me to Coinbase when I had never signed up. I immediately contacted Coinbase's support team to report the issue and request the account be closed. They were responsive and helpful in resolving the situation. I also took additional steps to secure my email account and enable two-factor authentication on all my online accounts to prevent further unauthorized access.
