On the traditional web, platforms have control over our interactions, discoveries, and online presence. However, on the emerging distributed web, various features and functionalities are fragmented and challenging to navigate.

Neighbourhoods offers a social organizing framework for the distributed web. It brings together a collection of interoperable, generic tools in a marketplace. Additionally, it incorporates intentional culture design tailored to each community. This includes defining entry and exit rules, establishing engagement norms within the neighborhood, and determining data sharing with other neighborhoods.

By utilizing Neighbourhoods, individuals can navigate the distributed web more freely, with peer-validated data, while groups can grow naturally without being subjected to the mediation and monetization of platform owners.

The Neighbourhoods Token (NHT) acts as a gateway into the low-code marketplace, where communities can construct their micro-networks.
